BSL Level 2 Course

Our BSL Level 2 course builds on the basics you learned at Level 1, helping you develop the confidence and fluency to take part in more detailed conversations using British Sign Language. The course follows the Signature Level 2 Award in British Sign Language, the UK’s leading qualification standard for BSL learners.

You will learn to:

  • Understand and use more complex BSL vocabulary and sentence structures

  • Take part in longer one-to-one and group conversations

  • Express opinions, feelings, and ideas

  • Describe events, routines, and activities

  • Understand a wider range of signed conversations in everyday settings

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for learners who have completed BSL Level 1 or are already at Level 1 standard and want to:

  • Communicate more confidently with Deaf people in everyday or professional situations

  • Work or volunteer in education, healthcare, social care, or customer-facing roles

  • Progress toward BSL Level 3

  • Deepen their understanding of Deaf culture and community

What does the course cover?

This course covers all three units required for the The course covers the following Signature units:

  • BSL201: Receptive Skills - receiving information in BSL

  • BSL202: Productive Skills - producing information in BSL

  • BSL203: Conversational Skills 

Topics included in this level are; Everyday conversation, Eating and Drinking, Spending and Shopping, Travel and Holiday.

Leaners Progression

After completing BSL Level 2, you can move on to BSL Level 3, which focuses on advanced grammar, formal and informal communication, and complex topics. Level 3 is ideal for those considering careers in interpreting, Deaf education, or professional communication roles involving the Deaf community.

Course Fees

The full cost of the BSL Level 2 course is £780. This includes structured tuition, access to course materials, and support in preparing for and undertaking of the Signature assessments.
